Best Solar Spot Lights: 13 Compared on Lumens, Battery and Runtime
Updated
Solar spotlights light up a tree, a wall or a flag with no wiring. They all look alike in the listings, and most roundups mix them with path lights and string lights. This page compares only spotlights, on the numbers that decide whether one works in your yard: brightness, battery, runtime and where the panel can go.
Every figure comes from the Amazon listing or, for Linkind, the maker's site, checked on October 3, 2026. Where a brightness figure appears only in Amazon's details table rather than the title or description, we say so. We have not tested these lights ourselves. How to Choose a Solar Spotlight
Start with the sun, not the light
A solar spotlight is only as good as the sun its panel gets. If the thing you want to light is under a tree or on a north-facing wall, an all-in-one light will struggle; pick one with a panel on a cable (9.8 to 16.4 ft on this page) and put the panel where it gets direct sun.
Read the lumen figure carefully
Stated output here ranges from 120 to 1,000 lumens per light. A few hundred lumens is plenty for a shrub or a sign; a tall tree or a whole wall needs more, or two lights. Several listings give their brightness only in Amazon's details table, and we mark those.
Look at runtime per mode
Full brightness rarely lasts all night: 6 to 10 hours is typical on high. Low modes stretch that to 10 to 48 hours, which helps through cloudy days. The JACKYLED dims itself through the night to make the charge last.
Plan for the battery
The battery is usually the first part to fail. Only the SUNLONG states a replaceable battery; the JACKYLED states that its battery cannot be removed, and most listings do not say. LEREKAM and the Linkind SL6C add USB charging as a backup.
Warm or cool
Warm white (about 3000K) suits planting and stone; cool white (5500K to 6500K) looks brighter and harsher. The JACKYLED switches between both, and the smart Linkind and Consciot models do any color.
What We Could Not Verify
- Battery capacity is not stated for most of these lights, including all four Linkind models and LEREKAM.
- Brightnessfor LEREKAM, T-SUNUS, SUNLONG and JACKYLED appears only in Amazon's details table; the Consciot listing gives none.
- Warranty: the Linkind StarRay is listed with 6, 2 or 1 year depending on where you look.
- Weather rating: SUNLONG gives no IP rating.
- Prices change constantly on solar lights and we do not list them; check the current price on Amazon.
- Real-world runtimedepends on your sun, season and panel angle; the hours shown are the sellers' figures.
